D’eagraigh Daonghrúpa na Lárchathrach Thuaidh an mórshiúl agus céiliúradh le teacht leis an dara bliain is nócha ó cheann an éirí amach. Bhí baill de phobal na lárchathrach thuaidh i gceannas ar an mhórshiúl ó Halla na Saoirse go suíomh íocónach Ard-Oifig an Phoist. D’éist na céadta daoine sa slua le hóráidí, dánta, agus mná áitiúla i macasamhail d’éide Arm Cathara na hÉireann agus Chumann na mBan ag léamh Fhorógra na Poblachta. Mar chúnamh ar na himeachtaí comórtha, scaip gníomhaithe éirígí cóipeanna de Fhorógra 1916 agus litríocht fheachtais nua an pháirtí, ‘No British Withdrawal? – No Royal Visit!’, i rith an lae. Spreag baill éirígí daoine chomh maith chun scríobh do ‘Céard a chiallaíonn an Forógra domsa’, gné den fheachtas ‘Athshealbhaígí an Phoblacht’ ar taiscéalaíocht é ar a bhfuil san Fhorógra agus a ábharthacht do mhuintir na hÉireann inniu. Is féidir ailt do ‘Athshealbhaígí an Phoblacht’, ‘Céard a chiallaíonn an Forógra domsa’ a sheoladh chuig whattheproclamationmeanstome@eirigi.org
The march and ceremony was organized by the North Inner City Folk Group, to coincide with the ninety second anniversary of the rising. Members of the north inner city community led the procession from Liberty Hall to the, now iconic, General Post Office. A crowd of several hundred listened to speeches, poems and the reading of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic by local women in replica Irish Citizen Army and Cumann na mBan uniform. As a contribution to the commemorative events, éirígí activists distributed copies of the 1916 Proclamation and the party’s recent 'No British Withdrawal? – No Royal Visit!' campaign literature throughout the day. éirígí members also encouraged people to contribute to the ‘What the Proclamation means to me’ aspect of the ‘Reclaim the Republic’ campaign which is an exploration of the content of the Irish proclamation and its relevance to Irish people today. Contributions to ‘Reclaim The Republic’, ‘What the Proclamation means to me’ can be emailed to whattheproclamationmeanstome@eirigi.org |
