Bring Back the Agbonlahors

22/08/07

Protestors will gather in Dublin tomorrow (Thursday) to demand the return of the Great AgbonlahorAgbonlahor family to Ireland.

Olivia Agbonlahor and her children Great and Melissa (both six) were arrested by Gardaí and flown to Nigeria on August 14 on the orders of Twenty-Six County Justice minister Brian Lenihan.

Great suffers from a severe form of autism and was receiving treatment for the condition in his adopted home in county Kerry. No equivalent treatment program exists in Nigeria.

While Olivia is originally from Nigeria, her two children were born in Italy and have spent the majority of their lives in Ireland.

éirígí spokesperson Brian Leeson called on people to support the protest.

“Pressure needs to be put on Brian Lenihan to reverse the appalling decision he took last week.

“If he refuses to allow the Agbonlahor family to return to the country they have made their home he should be removed from office on the grounds he is a racist who is incapable of handling his ministerial portfolio in a just and fair manner.”

If you support the right of the Agbonlahor family to return to Ireland then make your way to the Department of Justice, 94 St Stephen’s Green at 12.30pm tomorrow (Thursday, August 23).
